Re: Bubble and Squeek

I used to buy the tinned bubble and squeak. It was a handy standby meal to have in the cupboard. I always used to have a few tins at work. I could have a hot, tasty meal ready in a few minutes, rather than eating sandwiches. I have not seen the tins for a couple of years now. There are some vacuum p...

Re: Vegetariansism and the NHS

I had a similar experience at an RSPCA meeting I attended a few years back. Most of the buffet contained meat. They didn't know that some cheeses are not suitable for vegetarians and they had no idea at all what vegan means.

Re: The Atheist Bus Campaign - is it a good use of money?

I would prefer something like 'so make sure you make the most of life'. I would prefer something like 'There is no god - get over it!' Edward the Atheist If they'd had something like that, I wouldn't have donated. I've seen quite a few comments like this and have got drawn into a squabble on iidb o...

“There’s probably no God. Now stop worrying and enjoy your life"

I don't understand. Why "probably". Is there now some doubt?

Re: Nice New Spread

I use Asda's own brand yeast extract. It is cheaper than Marmite and I prefer the taste.

How many vegetarians still use cars and airplanes?
I use both. I fly most days and need my car to get to the airport.

Re: It is time to become a vegetarian?

Oh my, one must be precise here, mustn't one. I'll try again: I'm a quasi-vegetarian since I avoid meat whenever I can, but since I often eat at restaruants with groups, it's difficult to find any food selection offered on the menu by the management (whom I consider are often unintelligent) without...

Re: It is time to become a vegetarian?

I'm a quasi-vegetarian since I avoid meat whenever I can, but since I often eat at restaruants with groups it's difficult to find anything intelligent without at least chicken or fish. Occam This is because vegetables do not have a central nervous system and therefore possess no inteligence. Althou...

This is the first time that I have heard this. Do you have some references for the research which proves this?

I don't think that I would describe Quorn as bland. It does have its own unique flavour, although it is not a favourite of mine. I went to the veggie roadshow in Leeds a few weeks ago. They had free samples of both Fry's and Redwood's foods which were all quite tasty. It was the first time I had tri...
