Why are those geese jogging down the street?
That's just bizarre.

Re: Capital Punishment
Two wrongs don't make a right.
If it be wrong for the murderer to take a life why is the decision of a judge or jury to do the same any less wrong?

Re: Sex Offenders
Sexuality is Drive + Focus.
Changing sexual focus has proved problematic. Decreasing drive, on the other hand, is fairly easy.
A paedoplile aesthetically attracted to children but with no interest in sex should be pretty safe.

Re: Religion is continuous with schizotypy
Whilst I agree that various schizotypical personality disorders, as well as temporal lobe epilepsy, can give rise to religiosity and even religious 'experiences', I suspect your garden variety religious is more typically afflicted with a simple authoritarian personality.

Good point, Thundril. Critical thinking does seem to be a major stumbling block.

Re: Atheism is a religion???!!!
Val Perhaps there should be a 'Christians say the funniest things' section Warning! This site can severely increase your blood pressure. Fundies say the darndest things. The 2nd quotation is surprising, as I expected Christians would be more familiar with the language of their own holy book. The "r...

I have a cute little black and white moggie named Piddlywink, called 'Piddles' for short. Her name always raises questions.

Re: Who wants to kill Wikileaks creator Julian Lasange?
Frankly I think a little less secrecy might be a good thing. Political propaganda and skulduggery lay the foundation for tyranny and exploitation by special interests.
Secrecy is antithetical to a free and open society.
