Come to think of it, I rather envy those with a more enigmatic user name than mine....Sunbeam... Noggin....Firebrand...Moose....Curtains... etc. I couldn't think of one at the time, so stayed rather boring, but I don't think I'll change now

The Bishop of Carlisle

I posted this a while back, but it was deleted in The Great Schism, so I've put it back. Now that we are back ‘on air’, in response to a news item about the Bishop of Carlisle’s view of the causes of the flooding, which are reported here: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/main.jhtml?xml=/news/2007/07/...

About 25 years ago, I was having a pint, (no change there then) having played squash at my local squash club (in fact very local; it was next door but one) when someone to whom I was chatting asked "what did you say your name was?", to which I replied, " I didn't say it was anything. What do you thi...

I'm intrigued why people keep reading books about child abuse. Look at the best sellers list and there are always a few in there. I can't stand soap operas either. They make me want to run screaming from the room. I have enough on my plate without taking on things that are either in the past or pure...

Hi Scogirl! I trust you will also be diving at Sharm el Sheikh too! It has some of the finest diving in the world! The fish and coral are amazing! I went there nearly 30 years ago, when it was technically part of Israel. I went on the back of a truck across the Sinai desert. The coast road had not b...
