Re: Online security, trojans, viruses, malware, etc

Was disturbed to notice I'm the age & gender to fall for these. I get quite a few of them... sometimes do the old lady "my windows are very clean thank you, I polished them today" but usually stridently lecture until they hang up.

Re: Labour leadership election

Discovered accidentally as my youngest didn't tell me she'd made this 7min youtube (though she gave me permission to share): dnKKYzEQL9k Very much from her young Scottish perspective although she's clearly trying hard not to be opinionated. But it also exemplifies my oft-expressed hope that the futu...

Appropriate for these dark times: "HOME," by Somali poet Warsan Shire: no one leaves home unless home is the mouth of a shark you only run for the border when you see the whole city running as well your neighbours running faster than you breath bloody in their throats the boy you went to school with...

Re: The Speakeasy

Coming up, a glass of Talisker and a jug of the the finest and softest water Loch Katrine has to offer. Much obliged m'Lud. Slainte. please imagine happy chink emoticon Speaking as a True Scot, I must, however, respectfully disagree about ice in whisky. It looks pretty, I'll give you that. As I'm o...

Re: The Speakeasy

As elderflower cordial is currently simmering on my stove, I'd be happy to offer Jaywhat some with sparkling water :) - although I like it with gin :innocence: Sadly too refreshing in today's weather though, so does your island malt collection extend to Talisker? If so, a large one please, with some...

Re: Migrants via the Tunnel

.... Back in the sixties, I'm afraid a lot of us guys thought the 'chicks' were a bit of a side issue. Some of us have learned a bit since then. It has been fabulous to see how much some men - and women :D - have learned over my lifetime. Thundril! The Time Warp is now my earworm. Not sure if I sho...

.... My experience, apart from those who make an avocation out of charity and speaking in favour of tge disadvanraged (lousy term but...), is that people suffer "spikes" of attention and interest, and even action, when appropriate stimulation comes along. Appropriate stimulation can be as simple as...

Re: Migrants via the Tunnel

The old road is rapidly aging, and once again, the message for the conservative old gits is 'Please get out of the new one if you can't lend a hand,' Indeed. This is very ev...
