Looking for symptoms of arthritis I clicked on the Arthritis Research site and found they mention CAM but are very cagey in what they say - no claims of anything of course! But still a sort of propaganda for the quacks.

Looking further into it, especially the herbs/supplements section, they claim RCTs that gave positive results for some compounds.

Many quacks have their own definition of 'chemicals' and believe they are all nasty toxic things wot kill you:

There are three fundamental questions for anyone advocating Brexit:

1. What, precisely, are the significant and tangible benefits of leaving the EU?
2. What damage to the UK and its citizens is an acceptable price to pay for those benefits?
3. Which ruling of the ECJ is most persuasive of the need to leave its jurisdiction?

I've got some questions about that ingredients list.

1. Where's the protein?
2. Should fatty acids be listed separately or come under "vegetable oils"?
3. What is E306? It's listed as "tocopherol", but is it a tocopherol-rich extract? Or is it alpha, beta, gamma, or delta tocopherol?
4. Should "linolic acid" be "linoleic acid"?
5. Should "potasium" be "potassium"?
6. To comply with the relevant regulations, the ingredients should be in descending order of weight. Now, I looked up the USDA database entry for raw apple with peel: http://ndb.nal.usda.gov/ndb/foods/show/ ... +with+skin and ascorbic acid is listed at 4.6mg with riboflavin at 0.026mg. Yet riboflavin appears before ascorbic acid in the ingredients list. Why?
7. Hang on. Where's thiamine? There's 0.017mg in a raw apple. Why can't I see it on the ingredients list? Folate is mentioned and there's only 0.003mg of that in a raw apple. Other components such as B6 and vitamin K seem to be missing - a shame as pyridoxine and phylloquinone sound suitably chemically.
8. It seems the list is intended to demonstrate that 'chemicals' aren't nasty. Isn't oxalic acid a bit of a worry? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oxalic_ac ... and_safety

This post may be slightly tongue-in-cheek. Sometimes, it's fun to be pedantic. Well, for me anyway. Anyone who spots a mistake in my comments gets extra pedant points. And my thanks.

Ooh, I've spotted one. It's 100g of raw apple. Not "a raw apple". Sorry about that. My bad.

Ha!

It is a send-up, of course, but it does illustrate the point that qi 'energy' isn't like 'ordinary, everyday' energy, of course and there are no units of measurement...

Shetland, well: Lerwick has just gained a "Rolfing Practitioner", she must be after some of the 'chiropractors' business, I was most annoyed that the Shetland Times saw fit to dedicate a large column/advertisement to her arrival and I'll be making them aware of the fact.
I will also be taking a keen interest in the wording of any and all advertisements she may commission.

It seems that Prince William has struck a lucrative business deal in China, something to do with a traditional remedy now being available in UK over the counter, can't imagine what it is, but it was in the i, so must be true.
