Yup, quite colder but those clouds are not scudding by like racehorses any more.

MetMan says cloudy bright so I might wrap up warm and brave the rigours of Gloucester.

April 23 – In recognition of his services, Edward III of England grants the English writer Geoffrey Chaucer a gallon of wine a day for the rest of his life.

turned to page 1375 of the OED and found it stretched from political science (no comment) to polonium (also the result of decay!)

Nothing to do with the number but . . .

Why does a simple seeming meal of a couple of tortilla wraps (wraps bought, ingredients home cooked) have to generate a pile of washing up like three frying pans, two chopping boards and knives and a plate? Suppose I am lucky it was finger food and there is no dirty table cutlery! I can see why prepared shop food is so popular. For some.

Was nice though.

What's wrong with a bit of cheddar and a crust of fresh bread - perhaps with a little chutney. You don't have to be a ploughman.

Cheddar is one of my very occasional treats - skinny chicken bit better for my ticker but needs variations to make it interesting. Apart from that I had the tortillas left over from a previous time when eating with a friend - needed using up, hate throwing good food away.

Chuck in some home made tomato salsa with sweet chillis and slices of large, open mushroom and - mmmmm!

Then there's the washing up . . .
