wrong virus, "of iris" is correct, and think "bloody Al!" if not too inconvenient

not getting on very fast with this, tho' it has taught me the linguistic link between "vetch" and Latin "vicia"; both are beany, and I suppose "sprouting" is reproducing, so I wondered if "beansprout" might be there somewhere?

Sorry, but entirely wrong track, animist. The vetch is specifically "sweet". If you go through its reproductive process, you may find a word that rhymes with a synonym for torque.

Perhaps it would help if I augmented the clue slightly:

Let's torque for a second about how sweetly vetch reproduces.

well, your mention of "second" I eventually linked up, in my researches on torque, with "moment" - ? Not much progress on the sweet vetch front, unless the answer is "foment moment"

'moment' is correct. How are sweet vetch's seeds encapsulated?

Trying to give clues without directly giving the solution: a Google search on "general fruit terminology" may prove to be - er - fruitful.

Animist, just a note to let you know that I am up to my eyeballs in work (deadline to meet!), so I'll probably not get around to this game for a few weeks.
