actually I don't know what I am looking for either. I guess I will just have to ask Bob, son in law, to go back to the shop where they will run it through their machine. He bought the ticket for me because until yesterday I have been house-bound due to the snow. Because of the snow I had forgotten how to shop. I wanted five items from Tesco, met up with Bob on my way in and he offered to help me. I put the wrong card in the machine and it took three goes to pay. £108 later we emerged. I wanted to know if he was shopping with me or against me. Daughter gave me £20 to shop with and plaintively asked how much more she owed me.

108 pounds? Sounds like more than you wanted to pay.

Had a beautiful walk this morning. Everything was covered in a thick layer of frost and the ground was all crunchy.

Neighbours house is even worse than first thought. All the ceilings have come down and some of the plasterboard from the walls too.

Needless to say the cat is completely unphased as he still has his little cosy corner to sleep in. Cats are a bit like that, aren't they?

If he's anything like my two cats were (RIP Jesper and Trixie), the only thing that phased them was an empty food bowl!

Oh and Jesper tryin hard not to look daft as he tried to walk along the top of the fence (he was a manx with a little stubby tail so his balance was crap - for a cat at least. Mind you given some of his mannerisms I could swear he was part human!)

Funny Getreal, my son cat has the same habit of walking on the fence, and when I see it I sweat!
Actually, he fell once (20 mt.) but he's undeterred.

We're in the deep freeze here. Had a snow storm Sunday and now it's 10F/-12C but sunny.

So far, the lowest we've gotten this winter is 7F/-14C. But wait til Janurary and February. I'll have much lower temps to report then. We manage to get through it. Remote starters on both cars helps a lot to warm them up and get the ice/snow melted off the windshields. Dress warm and pay attention to the weather reports is important. Need to know when to worry about the water pipes freezing up to we can take steps against that.

I hate to complain, because there are a lot of other places much colder than we are.

Speaking of colder places, I'm just north of you, Carja. We reached -24 with windchill yesterday. Brrrr. My face felt like it was going to fall off.

I feel bad for you. We get some Artic blast temps sometimes with wind chill of
-40F/-40C. I was watching two reports on the weather channel about International Falls, MN ( http://www.idcide.com/weather/mn/intern ... -falls.htm) and Barrow, AK (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Barrow,_Alaska) and I don't know how the people who live in places that get that cold make it. Between the long freezing months and the depression they must bring, I don't see how they get through it. Our weather seems mild when I hear of places like these.

It's bizarre! Yesterday we had +9c and today we've had -3c (-20c with the North East wind chill) last week we had the opposite; -2c one day then +9c the next, oh and the snow is back though not as bad as two weeks ago.

It's just about raining here, but within a hour or two the temperature will drop enough to turn it to snow. Brrrr!

Mary was sent home from work at 15.30 today cos of the weather, that's twice this month but only the third time in 8 years.
I think the times they are a'changing.
No boats again tonight and the gale is due to veer East tomorrow so Aberdeen harbour will be closed again, empty shops tomorrow and Saturday, good job I stocked up on Tuesday

Mid afternoon here and light snowfall. Not too cold, though. It'll be melted by tomorrow, I'll wager.

After watching the rain last night and expecting the prophesied big freeze it was with trepidation that I looked out of the window this morning.

Blimey, just a pebble-dash frost on the cars and absolutely dry and clear roads! Got off lightly this time: trip on today - but no more trips planned till Tuesday when, hopefully, it will be back to "normal" again.

Today looks like I expected yesterday to look. But only about an inch or so of snow - enough to get the sillier drivers hitting the curb on the outside of the corner near my house, they never seem to learn that a shiny sheet of white stuff means slippery-slidey going!

Today is a lovely sunny one with temp at -3C with a windchill of -11C. Walking the dog is cold but he's got a fur coat. It wouldn't be big enough for me. :) I just can't wait until January when we'll really feel the chill.

looking at your residential location reminds me of reading some time ago that New Mexico has an enviably healthy climate - is it like that?
