Why did you choose your particular user name?
Re: Why did you choose your particular user name?
North of the Highland line we only have red squirrels. Long may it continue.
Carpe diem. Savour every moment.
Re: Why did you choose your particular user name?
I am told that red squirrels come from the US and are stronger (bigger?) and they defeat the grey ones.

Re: Why did you choose your particular user name?
Sorry, wrong way round, Gottard. Red squirrels are our indigenous variety and the grey came from America. The grey are bigger, stronger, and I think breed more successfully and eat more food varieties. They don't attack the reds, as is commonly thought, they are just better at survival and squeeze the reds out of their habitats.
Re: Why did you choose your particular user name?
At the back of my mind, I seem to recall that the greys also carry a disease which the reds can't cope with, but I may be completely wrong.... Anyone know?

The back of my house overlooks a wood were some squirrels (too far to distinguish the colour...could be red) gleefully jump among tree branches. The few cats living closer to home are as in a funk as they are unable to get to the prey. In my opinion they all are busy planning for some sort of strategy.

Yes, my reasoning exactly. I just couldn't be a--ed to re-think! Anyhow, the monicker is what many of those with whom I consort know me. I am both an archer and a doctor, so the name fits.verte wrote:verte is already my username at Gurdur's forum. I chose it again out of sheer laziness, and so Maria wouldn't wonder who the heck I was.
Thanks' for the mention of Gurdur. Something else for me to get into. I'll probably also use my same avatar, for the same reasons.

The first forum I joined a good few years ago was to do with camping in France, which I love. Anaconda was the name of the first tent we owned.

Anaconda, how seet to use the name of your first tent. My daughter has the middle name of Felicity, which was the name of our first car. I will let you guess why.
Re: Why did you choose your particular user name?
Heh! I suppose it could have been er..'in' an Austin Allegro! Not such a pretty name.
You should meet our oldest daughter, we named her 'behind the co-op wheelie bins'.
....you can take the boy out of Birkenhead etc etc.

Back to why a particular users name, Sandymere is my usual surfing spot and where I walk the dogs, run etc, its the name I use on all forums. The Avatar I normally use, head banger, is to big here hence no avatar. I picked head banger after long discussions with BARFist and anti vaccinators on dog forums as at times it felt like I was beating my head against a wall.
Edit, Found the head banger avatar not my usual but will do.

Sanymere, I used to use a similar avatar, but I had to stop as people said it made them feel sick.

I'm a huge fan of Peter Gabriel and 'That voice again' is one of my fav tracks. It also makes me think of Beavis and his inner calling.

I use the name 'Dartman' on Xbox Live, and because of all the hacking, I thought about using a different name.

Years ago I used to write a column for Beebug magazine on 6502 machine code programming for the BBC Micro. I called it 'Mr Toad's Machine Code Corner'. I used to blame any problems on ailments in my griblets, a griblet being a well-known ( ) internal organ of the toad. I often ended with "Bye for now, mammalian types. Keep your griblets warm, see you next month."

Re: Why did you choose your particular user name?
oddly enough, this is my legal name although it was not my birth name. I wanted to choose a nake I felt more proper to who I believed I was/am. So I went through the trouble of legally changing it since everyone i knew thought Cain was my name. So my whole chosen name is Cain Lucretius Cocteau. the first name having more of a "lore" feel to its reasoning, the other two are named after people that I have much respect.and have been influenced by their words

Mine is all to do with the avatar, which is a terracotta head (tete) that was made by a former pupil and which has great sentimental value.
