Alcohol

You may have thought this was going to be all serious and heavy but you can breathe again cos it ain't.

I'm just a bit bevied and a bit curious and trying to be friendly and the poll is completely neutral and unbiased. OK?

I particularly like Fraoch, Deuchars IPA and all the beers from our local brewery in Aviemore. However, having voted for real ale I have to say I also like whisky, gin and wine; there are probably other drinks I haven't thought of.

Definitely red wine. Probably Australian Shiraz!

A very tough poll but in the end I asked myself which would I choose if I was only allowed to drink one of them for the rest of life and I chose wine. I can't narrow it down any further though at the moment I'm partial to Californian, both red and white.

However, I also drink a great deal of whisky (and whiskey) and I confess that my favourite (not that I've tried them all) is Black Bush.

I generally dislike beer apart from certain smooth and fruity ales from the north of England. I love cider.

Girly cocktails and liquers are all fine in their place.

I'm drinking a lot of Pimm's at the moment, nostalgic for the kind of summers I remember in London when the sun actually made an occasional appearance.

Lager all the way for me :). I rarely drink anything else.

Well obviously, I do drink other things or I'd get dehydrated but I mean ..

I have a similar problem to Maria and have gone with vodka as best for not leaving me with a crashing hangover. I drink it with tonic - I assume that doesn't make it a girly cocktail?

I ticked wine, preferably red but I don't mind the odd glass of white, as long as it's not fizzy.
I like Australian and Californian, but tend to go for European brews to cut down on the "wine miles" is that a bit crazy?
I've just started to make my own, as I grow the fruit anyway, no wine miles at all there, how green is that?

I do like real ale as well, and whisky? Well.............. when in Rome and all that.

Poncey foreign lager for me, please, with a nice dry French wine coming a close second.

I've just drunk a large pina colada and would like to fly the flag on behalf of girly cocktails everywhere.

I like lager and wine as well but cocktails a bit special aren't they?

While I have drunk most things in my life, I now stick mainly to wine with the occasionally quality ale or lager.

The wine I go for is generally New World and red:white about 2:1.

If I had to choose one drink (other than tea) for my desert island it would be a selection of Australian Shiraz.

I do hope my GPs not a humanist!

You can't beat a chilled glass of rose, a chilled glass of champagne, a chilled glass of magners... or a warm can of budweiser on the boat....

I love wine and drink far too much. Generally go for French and red, the more expensive the better.

I suppose I ought to say whisky - that being the only real man's drink -
but I sometimes find that the first six can be a wee bit rough.

This is a rather difficult poll. I went with beer but of course enjoy wine and some spirits; single malts are rather good.
