The Innova is an update on the C series. I have owned two in my time. It was a fun machine. The Smart Roadster is cool but I would have nowhere under cover to keep it, so I think probably not. I probably wouldn't be able to get into one anyway.

You really don't kneed a bike license for a trike? They are very expensive though.

I wondered about that as well. IIRC you could drive a three wheeled vehicle of under a certain weight on a motor bike licence - many car drivers in the 60s went from a bike to a Bond, Messerschitt or similar on their way to their four wheeled licence. Just looked at some of the fab looking three wheelers available, but some look like concept cars or kit cars at a quick look. Did we not have a picture some time ago of that bike with two front wheels - bit of a compromise, you still have to lean on the corners but not so easy to fall over! Bet they cost more than one of the REs though!

A combination would be preferable to a trike. The importer of Royal Enfield machines is Watsonian. the sidecar manufacturers, who do a very nice outfit with an RE Bullet and any of their sidecars, like the one below.

You can buy covers (it's what I used when I had one). I think you'd be surprised about how easy they are to get into (once you get used to it being along way down!): I'm a tad over 16 stone and I had room to spare. Folks, I been and went and done it. I have bought... not a Royal Enfield because the children were unanimous in saying they would just worry about me... not a Smart Roadster... but the last thing I would have predicted, a BMW Z4 2.2 litre roadster. It's a few years old but has a very low mileage and looks like it just came new out of the showroom. I found the roof down experience of the convertible absolutely wonderful and although there may have been more sensible options, I think I will like it.

Cool stuff Lewist! Never owned one of them, but I used to have a BMW 328i Coupe, which went everywhere like shit off a shovel! It was great fun!
My wife is having one of these in December, and I'm already planning our holiday in Brittany next summer! It'll be a Mini adventure!

Just a slight difference in decision then, Lewis.
Can't remember, how much hair do you have to experience the wind in?
Can remember my old MGB Roadster and driving, with the top down of course, through the settled snow and bright Moon-light, at about mid-night, across Salisbury Plain and on to the far West Country. Ah, nostalgia, nostalgia!
Oh, then once getting a car half full of dried chicken shit when the cover came off the lorry in front of me - a not so nostalgic memory of roadsters!
