On "The Daily Rundown" on MSNBC this morning, it was brought up that we had an average of 7 named (severe or big enough to be given a name) storms in the 70's and that average has gone up to 18 named storms in 2012. It is recommened that when they start to rebuild on the east coast line, that they back things further away from the actual coast line, since it will be shrinking as time goes by.
Here in Michigan, we are getting some of the effects of Sandy. Rain and wind with strong wind gusts at times. Not too bad for us though. Plus, since we have a lot of lake effect weather, we are rather used to the rain and wind.
