Our very own countdown thread!

#1 Post by Moose » July 31st, 2007, 12:31 pm

The internet is littered with these threads that I've started .. they're fun :D. Anyway the idea is that I start at one million and the next poster posts the number below and so on.

Erm, to make it not a total waste of bandwidth we generally chat whilst counting down too :D

What a good idea! I have spent all morning nearly talking to the DWP on the 'phone and this is much more fun.

We are also waiting for the electrician to come to finish some work for us and are stuck in the house on a really nice day. Oh well.

Happy Tuesday to Nick and Moose!

Post-slutting threads are great. In less than a month our post count is already more than half the 'automated spam removed'. When we overtake them we'll have a party.

The...ahem.."freethinkers" who've seized control of the other place have fed the url for this forum into the spam filter, so if anyone posts it, even in a pm or as their hompage, it is automatically replaced with these words:

**automated spam link removal**

In return, some of us are simply typing in the same words rather than mention the other place by name on this forum. Just a bit of fun.

Blowed if I know, Alan, I've got to keep this treadmill going

Didn't get the electrician but the decorator did come at 5.00pm so the day wasn't completely wasted. :)

Okay...cool weird fact about me, actually my Dad ...
When reading through my Dad's funeral signature book, I found a famous signature... Charles Schultz...you know...the cartoonist who drew "Peanuts"...Charlie Brown and crew.

It really IS his signature! I don't doubt they may have been friends...my Dad was well liked and hung out in some "impressive" circles... But, I was 8 when he died and my mom and other relation are all gone, so I have no one to ask about it.
I just think it was kinda cool to see that famous signature after all of these years.

I DO remember that Peanuts was his favorite cartoon/comic

No, I've never seen one of these threads finished :). It would take about 300 years at this rate. The FF one is the one that's going strongest .. I think they've got about 50K posts there.

999 983 too true!

I was just about to chastise you for getting the number wrong but then I realised it was me who had got it wrong and you'd just followed suit :). I am absolutely hopeless with these things - I am forever adding or subtracting tens or hundreds or even thousands!

At our present level of registrations, if everyone posts once a day, we will reach zero sometime in 2043, when I will be around 95. Can we make sure that the party food is liquidised for me please?
