In my area (and Italy in general) people do not have the habit of lending their gardens in winter; the reason might be that winter here lasts for little time (Nov. to Feb.) and everyone stays indoor.
I arranged my garden in order that there is something blooming in every season.
Yes I have acid soil and they are related to the heather family; I also have pieris in the nearby.
Gaultheria is unknown here so I had to let it come from Holland. I already have the male plant and, as you surely know, I needed female plants to allow for pollination.
One male can pollinate up to three female plants; I wonder why women complain if we men want to copulate with more of them - strange nature! :laughter:

I also like your idea of a separate thread for this weird gardening stuff.

Perhaps we could also have a separate thread for sewing!

It's not so much tending, it's more, repairs and maintenance after the gales and heavy snow.
I also like your idea of a separate thread for this weird gardening stuff.
Listen Yorkie! There's nothing weird about growing stuff, unless you mean those crazy Rhubarb sheds you have in Yorkshire, you know, where mad Yorkshire-men creep in at night with candles, to harvest the rhubarb, If that's what you meant, then I quite agree with you :D

Around 15°C these days but yesterday was a bit cold in the wind. Sorry for the met officiandos, but I do not measure wind speed. All I know is that it was too unpleasant to sit out in it.

11c today Monday, on the Moray Firthbut it feels a lot colder when I am being pushedf in my wheelchair round the Culbin Forest. We retired to Forres garden centre for home baked cakes

A pleasant 13 celcius here today, and no wind.
I dug over and limed a 20'X12' area of (ex) lawn, ready for my main crop tatties (Desiree) to go in next weekend.
We have more rain forcast for the next three days though. :sad:

We've had more that our share of rain jay, it hardly seemed to stop from November till March, but another gorgeous day today been in the garden all day :smile:
